Funeral Consumers Education Foundation
Funeral Consumers Education Foundation (FCEF) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to
helping consumers identify dignified, meaningful and affordable end-of-life services. We are a 501c(3) corporation.
FCEF provides speakers, distributes literature, and monitors Oregon funeral legislation. FCEF also provides
background information to the news media, answers questions about funeral law, and collects information on home funerals, green
burials, and other topics of interest. We conduct and publish an ongoing survey of Oregon mortuaries to learn current
prices offered to the general public. Survey results appear in the Resources
section of this web site. Donations to FCEF are tax-deductible.
FCEF is affiliated with Funeral Consumers Alliance of Oregon
(FCAO) which is a membership organization providing access to reasonably priced end-of-life services. FCEF is
affiliated with The Funeral Consumers Alliance,
a national organization serving state level funeral consumers advocacy groups.
This web site is divided as follows:
About FCEF provides information about the Funeral Consumers Education Foundation.
It includes a brief history of FCEF, its relationship with the Funeral Consumers Alliance or Oregon (FCAO), and lists the
FCEF Board of Trustees.
Resources offers access to documents dealing with end-of-life issues that may be obtained
without cost. This includes FCEF's Survey of Oregon Mortuaries, a list of downloadable documents from Funeral
Consumers Alliance (our national affiliate), FCEF & FCAO newsletters, and other materials.
Organizations is a list of web sites of organizations that offer a wide range of free
services for individuals or families dealing with difficult illnesses or end-of-life challenges.
Information provides information on educational books, articles, videos, and materials
presenting a range of perspectives on end-of-life issues.
